We are seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for a local business in Crossville, TN. Job Description: - Perform inspections, repairs, and rebuilds on all plant operating equipment. - Perform preventative maintenance tasks on the mechanical systems including inspection and lubrication. - Routine replacement of bearings, idlers, dust collector bags, gearboxes, and drive belts will be required. - Initiate work orders as required - Understand the installation and maintenance of all types of bearings. - Perform shaft alignments using precision tools. - Must be ale to disassemble and rebuild all types of crushing, screening, and conveying equipment. - Able to use equipment manuals, parts lists or blue prints to properly install, repair, or order parts. - Review the preventative and predictive maintenance systems to ensure that the defined activities are sufficient to identify potential sources of failure before failures occur. - Apply root cause problem solving techniques to find and eliminate sources of recurring equipment failures. - Work closely with the Maintenance management team on developing proactive maintenance plans and task to minimize unscheduled machine downtime. - Familiarity with 480V / 3 phase electrical systems and able to complete simple electrical task such as making motor connections ATTRIBUTES: What are the Essential Knowledge/Skills/Abilities for this position? - Must have welding experience. - Industrial background with good troubleshooting skills. - Must be able perform basic mathematical computations - Ability to detect potential problems through observation in the field. - Must be able to work shift work, seven days a week including holidays and be flexible to schedule changes. - Must have a telephone and be open to call-outs - Self Motivated and must be able to work independently - Self-driven and resourceful to achieve goals independently as well as work well in groups. - Demonstrated experience with Root Cause Analysis problem solving. - Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate on all levels. - Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects and meeting all required deadlines. - Strong sense of urgency in meeting customer needs. - Good understanding of safety and the desire to following all established procedures are required. - Must have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software. - Previous SAP knowledge is a plus Physical Demands include, but are not limited to: Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels. Will be working at times in office environment but mainly in a mining environment. - The employee will be exposed to the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as dust, Fumes, and Mineral Particles. - The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing and sitting. - Ability to consistently lift over 50 pounds as needed. Required Experience: Must have 5-7 years of experience in industrial maintenance background working on large equipment. Experience performing millwright work, welding, fitting, reading blue prints, repairing and rebuilding motors, hydraulic repairs, aligning machinery is strongly desired. The ability and willingness to work any shift, and be on call, overtime, weekends. Must be comfortable working on your own. Required Education: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent. Must be willing to start on 2nd or 3rd shift in the beginning.
