These classes will cover the primary elements of drawing including composition, lighting, style, perspective, contrast, repetition, mass, high and low-key shading, and texture. In addition to this, the students will participate in drawing a still life picture, a landscape, and a portrait based on their individual choices. After completing the course, the student will have achieved a solid foundation to advance their drawing skills.

May 8th – Bring a notebook in which to take notes.

May 15th – Bring three items that will fit in a 2’x2′ space (knick-knacks, flowers, household items, fruit, etc.) & your basic kit

May 22nd – Bring an 8″ x 10″ photo of a landscape & your basic kit

May 29th – Bring an 8″ x 10″ photo of a face & your basic kit

The $20 kit will contain: 12 Graphite Pencils, 3 Charcoal Pencils, 3 Charcoal Sticks, 6 Sketching Sticks, 4 Sticks of Vine Charcoal, 1 Vinyl Eraser, 1 Kneadable Eraser, 1 Pencil Sharpener, 1 Sanding Block, 1 Reusable Container, and 1 8.5″x11.75″ Sketchpad.
