Sheryl Reeser returns to the Art Guild to teach the watercolor class “How to Paint Trees in
Watercolor.” Students will be drawing their own pictures under Reeser’s guidance. This class is
perfect for those who have basic knowledge of watercolor painting and those who are more
experienced in this medium.
Reeser knows exactly how an inexperienced person feels when tackling a new skill. When Reeser
retired to Fairfield Glade in 1995, she wanted to learn how to paint in watercolor, but had never
painted in any medium. She joined the Art Guild and started taking classes and reading lots of
books. Her classes were from both local and nationally known artists like Mary Whyte.
Reeser credits local watercolor artist, Le Voss, as her mentor and who encouraged her to teach
watercolor classes. Reeser, a retired teacher, began teaching classes in 2000 and has taught all
levels.
The one-day class will be held Thursday, January 20, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. The cost of
the class will be $35.00 for members and $40.00 for guests. For supplies, they should bring their
paint supplies, watercolor paper (140 lb. cold press), and an old toothbrush.
To register for the class, come visit at the Art Center at 451 Lakeview Dr or call (931) 707-7249. Class maximum is 10.
