Nonprofits in the Cumberland County area can receive free help and assist Roane State Community College students at the same time by signing up for an event this spring.
The “8 Hours of Impact Expo – Make Your TN Promise Community Service Hours Count!” opportunity will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Central Time on Tuesday, April 18, in the Community Room of the college’s Crossville campus, 2569 Cook Rd.
Nonprofits are being requested to set up booths in the Community Room that afternoon and meet with students about possible community service opportunities.
As part of the TN Promise scholarship program, where students receive last-dollar scholarships covering tuition and fees not covered by other scholarships or grant programs, students must complete eight hours of community service each semester.
The deadline for completing fall semester community service hours is July 1.
?Nonprofits interested in setting up a booth for the “Eight Hours of Impact Expo” can contact Moedano at (931) 456-4910, or moedanobm@roanestate.edu.
